Fresh off of the success of the BIG3's sophomore season, league founder Ice Cube has revealed that he has his sights set on one of the biggest names in NBA history as a potential participant in next year's edition.

Speaking to sportscaster Rich Eisen on his “Rich Eisen Show” podcast, Ice Cube has made public his incessant desire to bring Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant to his league.

To be fair, Cube was brutally honest about Kobe rejecting his proposal on several occasions. Nonetheless, this has done nothing to deter him from his dream.

The 49-year-old actor/rapper/business mogul is banking on Bryant's undying love for the game as the push Kobe requires to give the BIG3 a shot.

Many considered the BIG3 to be nothing more than a publicity stunt that was doomed for failure. With the unquestionable success of season two already in the books, Ice Cube has proven his doubters wrong.

On Friday, the league held its championship game, which was a close matchup between 3 Headed Monsters and Ghost Ballers. The Monsters, led by former NBA players Reggie Evans and Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf, came out on top with a 50-48 victory against the Ricky Davis and Carlos Boozer-led Ballers.

BIG3 has no shortage of retired NBA players, but in truth, the talent pool pales in comparison to L.A.'s Drew League. The latter boasts a host of active NBA stars including the likes of Jordan Clarkson and DeMar DeRozan. In fact, Bryant was in attendance in the Drew League's championship game which was held last Sunday. Ice Cube may have to battle it out for Kobe's signature.
