The BIG3 League is coming off a highly successful first season that came to a close last month while capturing the attention of many former NBA players in the process.

One of those players is Stephon Marbury, who has played the last several seasons overseas in China since leaving the NBA, stated on Twitter that he is considering putting his name in the hat to play for the BIG3 next summer.

Marbury is set to embark on his last professional season in the Chinese Basketball League that should mean he will be just a few months removed from his playing days. This should make a prime candidate to be in the mix to be selected to one of the teams for the second year in the BIG3.

Despite leaving the NBA back in 2009, Marbury has put together quite a successful career in the CBA that has seen him win three championships, six All-Star Game selections, a CBA Finals MVP. Prior to that, he was a two-time NBA All-Star and made a pair of All-NBA Third Teams.

This could be just the tip of the iceberg for the BIG3 as many more big names could foreseeably make the jump to the league next summer giving it even more credibility and recognition in the process. There could potentially be a bright future ahead if this trend were to continue.
