There isn’t a lot of quality basketball to watch these days with the NBA still in the offseason. This downtime in the hoops world, however, offers the opportunity for leagues like the BIG3 to get a bigger slice of the public’s attention.

As you might have heard or not, the second season of the BIG3 kicked off Friday night at the Toyota Center in Houston. Typically, James Harden and company play there, but since the Houston Rockets and the entire NBA are in vacation, basketball fans who showed up at the arena had to content themselves watching old, way past-their-primes basketball stars show that there’s still gas left in their tanks and also how fat they’ve gone since leaving the NBA.

As a bonus, fans also got to witness a skirmish between ex-pros Nate Robinson and Rashad McCants, which you watch in the clip below.

Robinson and his Tri-State squad defeated McCants’ Trilogy, the league’s defending champs, to the tune of a 51-34 score. Nate Robinson ended the contest with a 3-pointer and after knocking that down, he headed straight to Trilogy’s bench in an attempt to pilfer McCants’ mask. Unsurprisingly, Rashad McCants didn’t like what Robinson did, so the two got into a minor tussle before they got separated by cooler-headed folks.

Robinson, who was making his debut in the BIG3, scored 10 points, while McCants had 12 to lead Trilogy.
