After a breakout season with the Buffalo Bills that saw him make the Pro Bowl, Josh Allen is making card collectors take notice.

In fact, according to Goldin Auctions, a 2018 Panini National Treasures Josh Allen Signed NFL Shield patch rookie card–graded 9 by BGS with a 10 rating for its auto–just got sold for $210,330. As the auction house noted, it is the most expensive Allen card ever sold.

The hype surrounding Josh Allen is understandable, especially after his memorable season with the Bills that saw him register a career-high 4,544 passing yards on a highly efficient 69.2 percent completion rate. He also almost doubled his touchdown mark from his sophomore season, recording 37 TDs in 16 games played and started for Buffalo.

As mentioned, his brilliant play allowed him to make his first Pro Bowl appearance in the 2020 season. At the end of the campaign, he was also named to the second-team All-Pro.

For what it's worth, Buffalo reporter Kevin O'Neill apparently won the one-of-one rookie card of the Bills star. He tweeted the news, sharing  that he is just happy to keep the card in Buffalo.

“Excited I won. Glad I could keep this in Buffalo. It’s an investment for my family’s future. Next step: tell my wife,” O'Neill wrote on Twitter after winning the auction for Allen rookie card.
While the price O'Neill paid for the card is truly massive, it could prove to be a good investment if Allen continues to improve and lead the Bills to the Super Bowl. It is worth noting that a Patrick Mahomes signed rookie card was sold for $861,000 last February before the Super Bowl.
