The Buffalo Bills headed into the 2018 NFL Draft fully intent on drafting a franchise quarterback. The draft was chalk full of talented players at the position and the Bills took advantage by going with Josh Allen out of Wyoming with the seventh overall pick.

With Allen in the fold, it was uncertain when the team would give him an opportunity to prove his worth under center. That may no longer be the case with the rookie set to get first-team reps right out of the gate in minicamp, according to team reporter Chris Brown.

The Bills coaching staff may be hinting at Allen potentially being their Week 1 starter under center. Allen has received rave reviews throughout the NFL offseason thus far and it isn't beyond the realm of possibility that he's put himself in the running to lead the team immediately come September.

However, there's a long way to go before the season gets underway and things can quickly change during minicamp and training camp to follow. McCarron will have his opportunity to prove that he's a legitimate starter in the NFL after sitting behind Cincinnati Bengals starter Andy Dalton since 2014.

During his four-year career in the NFL, McCarron has played in only 11 games for Cincinnati starting in only three of those games. The Alabama product passed for 920 yards, six touchdowns, and two interceptions when given the opportunity to play for the Bengals.

Obviously, McCarron doesn't have the resume to demand the starting job in Buffalo right away making the quarterback for the Bills that much more intriguing.
