The NFL has been handing out fines nonstop this season over taunting penalties. Any sliver of emotion directed towards an opponent after a play can draw a flag and a fine. The latest incident that seemed ripe for the fining involved Stefon Diggs of the Buffalo Bills.

After scoring a touchdown, Diggs had some choice NSFW words for fans of the New England Patriots. The Bills went on to win the game 33-21 thanks to a strong performance from Josh Allen and the Bills shutting Mac Jones down.

In a pretty surprising turn of events, the NFL chose not to fine Diggs.

Although the taunting penalty mainly pertains to interactions with players, it's a little shocking the NFL chose not to say that Diggs committed unsportsmanlike conduct. For such hard language directed at fans, one would think the league wants to punish this behavior. Apparently, that is not the case. The Bills' leading receiver dodges a fine and takes the win in the process.

Diggs and Patriots fans may see each other again depending on how this weekend plays out. The Patriots could take the AFC East and host the Bills for a playoff game, though they will likely have to win their last two games to do it. It could be a chance for New England to get the last laugh or for Diggs to rub it in even more.

The Bills face the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday as they look to push their winning streak to three.
