The Falcons and Bills play in Week 17 as each team is battling for postseason position. Atlanta has an outside shot at one of the NFC Wild Card slots, while the Bills still have hopes of winning the AFC East after their Week 16 win over the New England Patriots. The Falcons were able to squeak out an ugly home win over the Detroit Lions and backup quarterback Tim Boyle in Week 16 to keep their playoff hopes alive for another week. Buffalo comes into this one as huge home favorites over the Falcons.

Why The Falcons Could Cover The Spread
The spread being so large is about all the Falcons have going for them in this one. Matt Ryan has been okay this season, but the absence of Calvin Ridley has been felt. The Falcons also still offer little resistance top tier opponents defensively this season. The Dallas Cowboys, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and San Francisco 49ers all had their way with the Falcons this season so it will be no surprise if the Bills do the same. Kyle Pitts and Cordarrelle Patterson will look to continue to carry the Falcons' offense as they face a tough challenge on the road vs. the Bills with their season on the line in Week 17. The Falcons might be able to pull off a cover but a win will be very difficult in this matchup.
Atlanta vs. the spread
The Falcons are 6-9 overall vs. the spread this season and 3-3 as road underdogs. Atlanta has covered just twice in their last seven games, and may be in trouble in this matchup vs. a tough AFC opponent.
Why The Bills Could Cover The Spread
Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs have looked like one of the more dominant QB-WR duos around the league again of late, as the Bills have won two in a row and look primed for a run down the stretch of the regular season. Buffalo has bounced back after losing three of four with convincing wins over the Carolina Panthers and New England Patriots the past two weeks. The Bills could be in store for a big game offensively vs. a Falcons defense that is allowing nearly 27 points per game. Allen and Diggs could both be in store for huge games vs. a suspect Falcons secondary.
Buffalo vs. the spread
The Bulls are 8-6-1 overall vs. the spread this season and 3-3-1 as a home favorite. Buffalo has covered in their last two games after failing to cover in three of their previous four before the two-game win streak.
Final Falcons-Bills Prediction and Pick
Take the Bills to win and cover in this one. The spread is quite large, but the Falcons have mostly picked up wins vs. bad teams this year while really struggling vs. quality opponents. This will be one of Atlanta's toughest tests of the season and the Bills should be able to come away with a big win in this spot.
