The Chicago Blackhawks and medical personnel took to social media to update fans on Jujhar Khaira. The left winger was hit by Rangers defenseman Jacob Trouba, resulting in a scary scene at Chicago's United Center. Khaira appeared unconscious after the hit, and was tended to by medical staff and taken off the ice on a stretcher.

Fortunately, the Blackhawks had extremely positive news to share Wednesday morning. According to the head team physician Dr. Michael Terry's statement, he was released from the hospital early Wednesday morning and was able to go home.

Terry also stated that Khaira's prognosis was great despite his significant injury, and he is expected to make a full recovery. The team did not release a timeline for when he will be back on the ice for the Blackhawks.

In the incident, which can be seen here, Trouba appeared to leave the ice during the second period hit. He was not penalized, but was later challenged to a fight by Blackhawks defenseman Riley Stillman. This is Khaira's first season on the Blackhawks after a longterm bout with the Edmonton Oilers.

Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews spoke about the scary collision, and said he was glad to hear positive updates on Khaira's condition following the game. Unfortunately, Toews and the Blackhawks were unable to secure a win for Khaira, falling to the Rangers 6-2 Tuesday night.
