Despite losing Game 3 against the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday, Carmelo Anthony remains confident in the Portland Trail Blazers' chances of  pulling off an upset in their first-round playoffs series matchup.

In his post-game interview, Anthony explained why he believes the Blazers are anything but down and out in the series.

“We good. It’s only 2-1. We have a series. We have to make adjustments. Game 4 we know the implications of what that means and we gave ourselves a fighting chance and we need to come back for Game 4. We are sitting in a good situation. We not concerned,” Carmelo Anthony shared, per Blazer Banter.

Anthony makes an excellent point in his remark. He has been in a fair share of playoff series in his tenured career, and he has been in this exact situation many times in the past. With that said, Melo understands what's at stake and what he and the Blazers need to do from this point moving forward.

Anthony had a great game for Portland on Saturday, finishing with 20 points on 9-of-20 shooting, along with six rebounds, two dimes, four steals, and a block in what was easily his best game in the series thus far.

Melo has been a great addition for the Blazers this season, and Saturday's performance speaks volumes of how important he has been for Portland this term. The Blazers gave the 10-time All-Star a shot this 2019-20, and he has proven well worth the risk.

Game 4 is scheduled for Monday night, and as Melo expressed above, the Blazers will need to come out with a must-win attitude in that contest. Confident as he may be right now, losing Game 4 will have a catastrophic effect on Portland's playoffs hopes moving forward.

Being down 2-1 is completely different from going into a 3-1 hole, and very few teams have ever comeback from such a seemingly insurmountable lead in NBA history.
