Just one night after James Harden of the Houston Rockets made NBA history as the first player ever with a 60-point triple-double, Portland Trail Blazers shooting guard C.J. McCollum also made history on Wednesday night.

In just 29 minutes of action, McCollum became just the second player in the shot clock era to score at least 50 points in less than 30 minutes of action during the Blazers' 124-108 thumping of the Chicago Bulls at Moda Center.

The NBA's official Twitter account praised McCollum for such a rare feat, as the star guard had a career-high 50 points.

Not only did McCollum have 50 points, he had 28 of those points in the first quarter alone, which was a Blazers franchise record. He also finished just one point shy of setting the franchise record for most points in one half, as star point guard Damian Lillard still has the record with 33 points in a half of basketball.

What is even more impressive about McCollum's scoring outburst? He did all of the damage in just three quarters, as Blazers head coach Terry Stotts decided to sit both McCollum and Lillard for the entire fourth quarter of the game.

Immediately after the contest, McCollum talked about his incredible performance.

McCollum's final stat line from his epic night against the Bulls is as follows: 50 points, 18-of-25 shooting from the field, 6-of-9 from 3-point range, a perfect 8-of-8 from the free throw line, four rebounds and two assists in just 29 minutes of action.

The other player whom McCollum joined with this rare accomplishment is Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson who once scored 60 points in 29 minutes.
