In the first quarter of Wednesday night's contest between the Portland Trail Blazers and the Chicago Bulls, it was very clear that Blazers star shooting guard C.J. McCollum was not messing around. In fact, he was pretty much unstoppable during the first 12 minutes of action and set a franchise record with 28 points in the first quarter alone.

What was McCollum's stat line from the first quarter? 28 points on 11-of-14 shots from the field, which included a 4-of-5 mark from 3-point range and 2-of-2 at the free throw line.

Bleacher Report took to Twitter to post a video of McCollum's amazing first quarter highlights, which can be viewed below:

The Blazers as a team absolutely manhandled the Bulls in the first quarter on Wednesday night at Moda Center. Not only did the Blazers dominated the Bulls by a whopping 43-19 score in those first 12 minutes of action, but McCollum did so by nine points himself.

In the second quarter, the Blazers cooled off and let the Bulls chip into their lead a bit. Still, Portland held a comfortable 67-44 lead at halftime over Chicago after McCollum made a dunk right before the buzzer.

According to a post from the Blazers' official Twitter account just after halftime, McCollum's 32 points (13-of-17 shots made from the field) trailed only star point guard Damian Lillard's 33 points for most scoring done in one half in franchise history.

The Blazers shot lights-out in the first half en route to a 23-point halftime lead, as they shot an impressive 28-of-44 from the field.
