Portland Trail Blazers shooting guard CJ McCollum wants somebody to sign Jamal Crawford now that Carmelo Anthony is “free.”

Crawford is still on the open market. The Blazers ended Anthony's exile from the NBA last week after they signed the 10-time All-Star to a non-guaranteed deal:

Crawford played with the Phoenix Suns last season. The veteran scorer averaged 7.9 points, 1.3 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 64 games while shooting 39.7 percent from the field, 33.2 percent from beyond the arc and 84.5 percent from the free-throw line.

Crawford, 39, scored 51 points on April 9 against the Dallas Mavericks. McCollum believes there has to be a team in the NBA which can use Crawford's scoring off the bench.

Anthony had a vintage performance for the Blazers on Monday against the Chicago Bulls. He put up 25 points and eight rebounds while shooting 10-of-20 from the field and 4-of-7 from beyond the arc. The Blazers defeated the Bulls by 23 points to improve to 6-12 on the season.

In four games with the Blazers, Melo is putting up 16.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists. He's shooting 39.1 percent overall, 39.1 percent from the 3-point line and 71.4 percent from the charity stripe. Anthony passed Alex English on the NBA's all-time scoring list on Monday.

So far, there haven't been any reports linking Crawford to a team.
