Well, here's something that you don't see too often. The NBA and K-Pop (Korean pop) circles don't usually interact, but recently, one of the biggest K-Pop names shouted out one particular team. When asked what is his favorite team, Suga, a member of the famous Korean boy band BTS, named Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers as his favorite team.

In response, Damian Lillard posted an emotional and heartfelt message to Suga, saying he appreciates him liking the Blazers' underdog mentality.

Lillard and Suga have a lot more in common than most fans would think. The most obvious connection between the two is music and rap specifically: Suga is the lead rapper, while the Blazers star has released multiple rap albums in the past few years (including one recently!). We're not going to debate you which is the better rapper, though.

However, Blazers fans (and really, non K-pop followers) will likely be surprised to learn that both Lillard and Suga share a passion for basketball. We already know of Lillard's exploits on the court, but Suga has referenced basketball multiple times in his performances. In fact, the BTS rapper's stage name is short for “shooting guard”, which is the position he apparently plays.

I don't think anyone had Damian Lillard and BTS interacting in their 2021 bingo card, but here we are. Will this mean a collaboration between Dame D.O.L.L.A and Suga in the near future? Who knows, maybe it will happen in the offseason, once the Blazers figure out how to rescue their disappointing 2021 season.
