The Washington Wizards came into this season full of optimism after a successful summer. They were able to bolster their lineup by adding key pieces to their roster to help them compete in the Eastern Conference, but after six games, things have not gone according to plan for them as they have only won once and lost five games so far.

Asked why they have not been successful in the young season, the team's shooting guard, Bradley Beal, did not hold back and gave his thoughts on it. He discussed what the Wizards are missing and what they have to do to start winning, per Candace Buckner of The Washington Post.

“We did not expect it to be like this.”

“We got to get our toughness back, our identity back. We're playing with no toughness, no swag. We got to pick each other up. We've got to get something going.”

“We don’t want to be 1-5 right now,”

“Everybody's frustrated. Everybody's mad.”

His teammate, Otto Porter, also echoed his take on things and added that everybody needs to do their part for the team to turn their fortunes around.

“By this point everybody got to look themselves in the mirror and come back and go to the drawing board (to see) what we got to do to get wins and get stops.”

The Wizards will have a tough stretch ahead of them as they face teams who are considered contenders in their conference. Their next three games will be against the Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Chicago Bulls.

Beal hopes that his strong words will serve as a wake up call for the rest of his team. If they won't act now, they will be in danger of digging themselves a deep hole that may be too difficult for them to get out of in the long run.
