The Denver Broncos came up short in the Week 1 finale against the Tennessee Titans. Unfortunately, their injury-riddled roster was dealt a couple more blows with cornerback A.J. Bouye and running back Phillip Lindsay sidelined for the second half of their 16-14 loss on Monday night.

According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, Bouye dislocated his shoulder in the 2020 NFL season opener and is waiting for test results to determine his timetable for a return:

Denver had already been dealing with major losses on both sides of the ball after missing linebacker Von Miller and wide receiver Courtland Sutton to start the season. Losing two more key players for the entire second half clearly came back to haunt them down the final stretch. Fortunately, the report indicates that the team is optimistic that the severity of Bouye's injury is not deemed to be too serious.

With Bouye sidelined, the Broncos turned to rookie cornerbacks Michael Ojemudia and Essang Bassey to help fill the void. It is safe to say that making their pro debut on primetime following a truncated offseason due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic was quite an eye-opening experience. They will now be tasked with taking on an increased role while Bouye recovers.

Tennessee gave Denver every opportunity to take control of the game thanks to a disastrous outing from kicker Stephen Gostkowski. However, they failed to capitalize and ultimately allowed Gostkowski to redeem himself with a game-winner. Regardless, there seems to be a silver lining in the fact that this shorthanded roster managed to nearly pull off the upset against a Titans team that is expected to make the playoffs.
