The 2019 NFL season has been rough for the Denver Broncos. Along with losing four straight games to start the year, the Broncos now have to move forward without one of their best players.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Broncos star linebacker Bradley Chubb has suffered a torn ACL and will miss the rest of the 2019 campaign for Denver.

Coming into the season, the Broncos were hoping to finally turn the corner in the post-Peyton Manning era. General manager John Elway went on and got a Super Bowl champion in Joe Flacco and was confident in stars like Chubb, Von Miller, Phillip Lindsay, Courtland Sutton, Chris Harris, and Emmanuel Sanders leading the way.

Unfortunately, things haven't gone as planned and the loss of Chubb is devastating to a defense that is not as good as expected four weeks into this season. Miller will now have to shoulder the load on defense as the Broncos try to right the ship this year before this becomes unsalvagable in the Mile High City.

In Week 5, the Broncos will face another tough opponent in the division-rival Los Angeles Chargers. This is another important game for Denver as it has AFC West implications as they already have one loss to a divisional opponent falling the Oakland Raiders in their season opener.

The loss of Chubb will make things that much more difficult for Vic Fangio and company as they attempt to get back on the right track this season. If they don't turn things around quickly, Denver may be looking at yet another season without a playoff appearance and a lot of questions surrounding the future of the franchise.
