Denver Broncos backup quarterback Chad Kelly is making headlines for the wrong reasons, as he was recently arrested for criminal trespassing.

According to NBC Sports, Kelly was charged with first-degree criminal trespassing in Englewood, Colorado. He was taken to the county jail after he was chased out of a residence he entered without permission. His current whereabouts aren't known, but more details should public soon. NFL insider Ian Rapoport tweeted this public statement made by the Broncos following the news of his arrest.

“We are disappointed that Chad Kelly was arrested early this morning. Our organization has been in contact with Chad, and we are in the process of gathering more information.”

Unfortunately, this is nothing new for Chad Kelly. The 24-year-old has plenty of talent, but his lack of maturity and off-field issues lead to him being selected with the last pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. He was kicked off the team at Clemson and eventually ended up playing at East Mississippi Community College, which is known to be a landing spot for talented but troubled young football players. The school is where the hit Netflix show Last Chance U is filmed, and the program eventually helped him transfer to play at Ole Miss.

The 3-4 Broncos are third in the stacked AFC West. They are behind the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers. There have been talks about the possibility of Chad Kelly replacing the current starter, Case Keenum. However, this recent report will likely assure them that they made the right choice.
