One of the best players in Denver Broncos history Champ Bailey has never been afraid to speak his mind, even if it's about other Broncos royalty and this time he has taken aim at John Elway. For the second time this month, Bailey has gone after Elway for his handling of the Chris Harris Jr. situation.

Harris Jr. has stayed away from the team while he continues to look for a new contract and on an appearance on 104.3 The Fan Bailey said that he thinks Harris will be rewarded at some point by the team but points out that it's Elway's practice to not pay someone until he absolutely has to.

“It's unfortunate for Chris because I think the last three or four years he's been underpaid,” Bailey said, via The Athletic's Nicki Jhabvala. “Well, actually, the first contract he signed, the first big one, I think since then he's been underpaid. It's easy to get over on an undrafted free agent in that situation because he's just looking for his first pay day. So I can understand the mindset, but at this point, I mean, the last couple of years, geez, this guy's been a top-five corner at the worst. Every time I look at the tape, nothing changes about his game.”

“He just balls, and I don't know what else he has to do to get his due. I got a feeling he'll get paid, whether it's with Denver or somewhere else. Hopefully it's with Denver. They'll come to their senses and pay him. But we all know John Elway doesn't pay until he has to. What that time comes, I'm sure he'll pull the trigger.”

Harris wants to be the highest paid cornerback in NFL history and before the draft he made it clear to Elway he wanted a new contract or he wanted to be traded away to a team that would pay him what's he worth.

Elway had said he wanted to wait until after the draft to try and figure this out, and now that the draft is done, it's unclear if the two sides are any closer to a deal.
