Paxton Lynch has not particularly performed well in the training camp and in the preseason games, which has led some to believe that the quarterback is not going to make the final 53-man roster of the Denver Broncos. Coupled with Chad Kelly’s promotion as Case Keenum’s main backup, Lynch’s future in Denver has only grown gloomier of late.

Despite his demotion to a third-string role. Lynch stressed how much he still wants to be in Denver, per Ryan O’Halloran of the Denver Post.

“I love it here; I’ve said that since Day One,” Lynch said. “I’ve gone through some things. I’ve struggled. I haven’t played well at times. Sometimes, I’ve played well. I have to find that consistency.”

Lynch also continues to project a sense of optimism and complacency amid his struggles.

“I’m not worried about anything past the next day,” Lynch said. “I’m focused on preparing myself to play well on Thursday (at Arizona). … I wouldn’t say (the uncertainly produces) stress but obviously you think about it and you’re not happy about it. But I have to do what I have to do with the hand I’ve been dealt.”

Through the first three games of this year’s preseason, Paxton Lynch completed just 14 of his 29 pass attempts for 102 yards with zero touchdowns and an interception. Kelly, meanwhile, has passed for 340 yards and three touchdowns against an interception on a more efficient 28-for-41 completions.

This Thursday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals on the road could be a make-or-break situation for Lynch, who may soon find himself without a job if he put up a bad performance under center in Glendale.
