Von Miller has been one of the most disruptive forces in the NFL since 2011, and the Denver Broncos are making sure he remains with the team in 2020. According to the Denver Post's Ryan O'Halloran, Denver has picked up Miller's option on his contract.

Back in 2016, Miller signed a six-year, $114.1 million extension with the Broncos. Included in the contract was a provision that gave Denver a team option for the final two years of the deal. As of this moment, the current contract is set to expire after the 2021 season.

Besides Miller, the Broncos also picked up the options for Todd Davis and Brandon McManus. Of the names listed, John Elway made it known that the team would pick up Miller's option when the 2019 season concluded.

Since 2011, Miller has been nearly unstoppable, racking up a total of 106 sacks, 216 quarterback hits, and 26 forced fumbles. However, due to Bradley Chubb suffering a season-ending injury in 2019, Miller had arguably the worst season of his career.

The former first-round pick would finish this past season with just eight sacks and zero forced fumbles. The eight sacks were the second-lowest in Miller's career, with his lowest coming in 2013, when he played in only nine games. On the other hand, this past season was Miller's first season, where he failed to record a forced fumble.

By picking up Miller's option, the All-Pro edge rusher is slated to carry a cap hit of $25.6 million next season. Despite Miller's down year in 2019, it is wise for the Broncos to pick up his option for 2020.
