The Denver Broncos' decision to find a new quarterback has long been a foregone conclusion since their disappointing performance throughout the 2017 NFL season. However, it seems head coach Vance Joseph is not ready to publicly acknowledge the inevitable.

Various members of the Broncos have not been shy about expressing their desire for Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins. Joseph, however, has refrained from commenting on the potential pursuit of the soon-to-be free agent, according to Darin Gantt of Pro Football Talk:

Asked how Cousins handled pressure, Joseph stepped carefully away from the tampering line, saying “I haven’t coached Kirk Cousins so I can’t speak to that to be honest.”

He did acknowledge that Cousins was a “good football player,” adding “He’s a good one, but I’ll leave it at that.”

Joseph added that the only quarterback talk as of right now will be surrounding the ones currently on the roster.

“I can’t speak to the future right now,” he said. “Right now, they are our quarterbacks.”

It seems Joseph is looking to leave as much speculation about the quarterback position out there as possible. However, it goes without saying that Denver is certainly not looking to endure another nightmare season due to their problems under center.

The Broncos have appeared as frontrunners in the Kirk Cousins sweepstakes ever since Washington made the blockbuster for quarterback Alex Smith. Although Denver does not have as much money to offer as other teams, they are already built to have immediate success. That said, it will be interesting to see how long Joseph plays coy on expressing his thoughts on other potential quarterbacks.
