Uncertainty now looms over the heads of the Denver Broncos as one of their cornerstones in linebacker Von Miller was confirmed to be sidelined for an extended amount of time. The 31-year old recently suffered an injury on the last play of the Broncos' team practice. An MRI on Tuesday eventually confirmed that Miller has suffered a potential season-ending tendon injury, with the earliest recovery time being 3 months.

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport posted the details on the injury of Miller via Twitter:

The Denver Broncos are expecting to finally see a potent Von Miller-Bradley Chubb tandem on defense for the upcoming season. However, the eight-time Pro Bowler's absence won't make it possible anytime soon. On the other hand, fellow linebacker Chubb is also questionable for Week 1 as he is still recovering from a torn ACL injury sustained last season.

Huge responsibilities were expected to be put on Miller prior to his injury. His presence on the defensive rotation definitely made life harder for their opponents in recent seasons that he was at the helm. The Texas A&M product has already established a Hall of Fame-bound career with numerous awards to account for.

Von Miller was a 2011 AP NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, four-time second-team All-Pro member, three-time first-team All-Pro member, Super Bowl 50 champion and championship MVP. He also posted 33 solo tackles, 13 assisted tackles, and 8.0 sacks through 15 games played last season.

Without Miller, the Broncos' playoff aspirations would definitely be harder to reach from now on. The team can only hope for the linebacker's swift recovery and that they can power through without him in a tough NFL season in 2020.
