In the hours leading up to the NFL Draft, there have been various rumors floating around concerning the teams sitting at the top of the first round. Much of this has centered around the possible landing spots for the group of highly-touted quarterbacks that are projected to be off the board quite early on Thursday night.

According to Ian Rapoport of The NFL Network, the Denver Broncos are believed to have significant interest possibly moving up to the second overall spot in a trade with the New York Giants to take a quarterback.

The Broncos had continued to voice that they are open at the fifth overall pick to taking a quarterback at that spot in the draft. The team has been previously connected to the likes of USC's Sam Darnold, Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield, and Wyoming's Josh Allen all over the last few weeks.

Although they have inked veteran quarterback Case Keenum to a two-year, $36 million deal via free agency, the team still has their eyes on bringing another promising talent at the position in the meantime. There is also no guarantee at this point that Keenum can continue to play at a high level like he did during his tenure with the Minnesota Vikings last season that saw him help lead the franchise to the NFC Championship for the first time in nearly decade.

The Broncos are strapped with several draft picks that could help them make a lucrative trade package for the second-overall pick as they also possess the 40th overall pick along with a pair of picks in each the third, fourth, and fifth rounds. All of this may depend on what the Cleveland Browns do with the first overall with the expectation that they will take a quarterback at the first overall spot. Things could become quite interesting with plenty of moment around the league.
