Philip Rivers and the Los Angeles Chargers will be parting ways, but don't expect Rivers to end up with a certain AFC West division rival. According to Mike Klis of 9 News, the Denver Broncos has no intention of pursuing Rivers in free agency, as they are committed to Drew Lock as their quarterback going forward.

The Broncos have long been in need of a signal-caller, but Lock provided the franchise with some hope over the final five games of 2019, looking impressive while leading Denver to a 4-1 record during his starts.

Meanwhile, Rivers is coming off of one of his worst seasons in quite some time, as he threw for 4,615 yards, 23 touchdowns and 20 interceptions while completing 66 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 88.5.

While the yardage totals were there, Rivers was far too prone to turnovers this past season, which played a rather significant role in the Chargers going just 5-11 in spite of Super Bowl expectations.

The 38-year-old, who played his collegiate football at North Carolina State, was originally selected by the New York Giants with the fourth overall pick of the 2004 NFL Draft but was famously traded to the Bolts for Eli Manning.

Rivers spent the first two seasons of his career playing behind Drew Brees, but was named the full-time starter in 2006 and proceeded to make the Pro Bowl in his first year under center.

Overall, the Decatur, Al. native made eight Pro Bowl appearances during his time with the Chargers, although he never took the team past the AFC Championship Game.
