The Cleveland Browns' playoff aspirations were all but dashed on one fateful play. Never mind quarterback Baker Mayfield's three interceptions earlier in the game – they were down two points with the ball and two minutes left against the Green Bay Packers.

One successful drive, even if just for a field goal, was enough to redeem his previous mistakes. And yet Browns fans know how things turned out, with Baker Mayfield getting picked off with just under a minute to play.

Mayfield's immediate reaction after the game was to take the brunt of the blame.

“It’s just frustrating,” the Browns QB said. “I don’t think it was anything preparations-wise mentally. It was just (bad) throws. Uncharacteristic. I hurt this team, that’s the most frustrating team for me.”

But after a few days to sit on the Browns' defeat, Baker Mayfield took to Instagram to vow he'll only get better from the experience.

“Bounce back. Far from finished,” posted the Browns star as the caption on his IG post.

Football is truly a fickle mistress. Had Baker Mayfield successfully hit Donovan Peoples-Jones for a Browns first down and clawed their way to field goal range, they'd be right in the thick of the playoff race. Not to mention they'd have knocked off the NFL-leading Green Bay Packers to do it.

Instead, Baker Mayfield Browns are likely out barring an extremely fortunate sequence of events.
