Following their disastrous 2016 campaign, Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson vowed that the team would not endure another year like the one they did. Unfortunately, the 2017 NFL season was even worse as they failed to win a game all year.

As a result, it is time to pay the piper. According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Jackson will be a man of his word when he jumps into Lake Eerie next month:

He announced Monday that he'll make good on his promise to jump in Lake Erie on June 1 for charity.

Jackson said earlier in the year that the plunge will be a symbolic cleansing of the organization.

“We're working towards making 2018 a much better year for the Cleveland Browns, and I'm hoping to also cleanse ourselves of all the losing for the past two seasons by jumping in,” he said.

It may have taken awhile or Jackson to confirm his plans to make the jump but for good reason. The head coach was reportedly planning on doing it as soon as the 0-16 campaign ended. However, his doctor did not give him permission to do so until the warmer months due to a heart condition.

Jackson's strategy may be a bit extreme, Perhaps it is one that was needed given Cleveland's lackluster performance the past two years. Fortunately, there is much more optimism surrounding the team going into the 2018 NFL season thanks to the bevy of talent they added in the offseason.

However, if Jackson is unable to make a drastic improvement this time around, he may be diving head first into free agency next year.
