The return of Odell Beckham Jr. to action will take a little bit longer. The Cleveland Browns wide receiver has been declared out for a Week 2 matchup against the Houston Texans at home. It appears he's not yet 100% ready to take the field. Cleveland teammate Jarvis Landry sees no problem with the course of action Beckham is taking, as the team patiently waits for the star wideout's return, per 92.3 The Fan.

Browns WR Jarvis Landry on Odell: “His situation is really, honestly between him and coach, the training staff and his camp about how they're handling things. The most important thing is that he's continuing to get healthy and when he's comfortable enough, he'll be out there.”

It should be remembered that Odell Beckham missed nine games in 2020 for the Browns after suffering a torn ACL injury during a Week 7 game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Despite Beckham's absence in Week 1, the Browns still had a prolific day on offense against the Kansas City Chiefs. The team relied on a run-heavy attack that bent and broke the Chiefs' defense for most of the game. Baker Mayfield also picked up 304 passing yards, but failed to find anyone in the end zone with his arm. A healthy Beckham would have likely found a way to snag a receiving TD against the Kansas City secondary.

Beckham's date of return remains up in the air for the Browns, but the soonest he can play will be on Week 3 against the Chicago Bears at home.

The Browns and Jarvis Landry did everything except beat the Chiefs in Week 1. They pushed the defending AFC champions to the limit. Getting OBJ back matters not just for the regular season, but for a possible reunion with the Chiefs next January.
