Ahead of the Cleveland Browns week 3 action on Thursday night against the New York Jets, there have been questions concerning star wide receiver Jarvis Landry's availability for the contest.

According to Diana Russini of ESPN, Landry is expected to take the field against the Jets despite dealing with a nagging knee injury.

The 25-year-old has been working through a knee injury that has been bothering him throughout the early goings of this week limiting his availability in practice. However, it doesn't appear that will prevent him from taking the field on Thursday night with his team seeking their first win of the season. Landry has smoothly stepped into a major role in the offense recording 12 catches on 22 targets for 175 receiving yards through the first two games. He is coming off a solid performance in Week 2 in the 21-18 loss to the New Orleans Saints where he had five catches for 69 receiving yards.

Browns are counting on him to be a major factor in the passing game against the Jets as his role has increased with the departure of Josh Gordon that has made him the clear-cut No.1 wide receiver. Cleveland will also depend on rookie Antonio Callaway and third-year wideout Rashard Higgins, but he has proven over the course of his career that he can be a game-changer in the offense behind his playmaking ability. Landry has shown a strong connection with quarterback Tyrod Taylor throughout the first two weeks as he's tied for fourth in the league with four catches for 20 or more yards but has yet to record a touchdown.

Cleveland appears to have a difficult matchup against the Jets, who ran eighth against the pass giving up just 211.0 yards per game while holding the third-lowest passer rating in the league (64.7). This could heighten the importance that Landry will play in the passing game.
