The Cleveland Browns are in the midst of a disappointing NFL season. Yet, they are confident that running back Kareem Hunt will soon be able to help them.

Although Hunt still has two games remaining in his eight-game suspension, the NFL has allowed him to return to practice in Cleveland early. According toMary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, head coach Freddie Kitchens is happy with what he has seen from Hunt:

“Very pleased,” Browns coach Freddie Kitchens said Monday. “I thought he looked good. He looks like he is in good shape. He moved around good. It is always good to get good players back.”

Kitchens added that Hunt has managed to pick up where he left off after suffering an injury during training camp.

“Kareem had a good spring, a good training camp,’’ Kitchens said. “He went out with an injury in training camp so any reps he gets is good. For the most part, it is just good to have him back in the building, getting him back and continuing to support him in every way possible as a player and as a person.”

Kareem Hunt will be eligible to make his return in Week 10 versus the Buffalo Bills. The Browns should have a good idea of where they stand in the playoff picture by the time comes back.

Running back Nick Chubb has emerged as one of the few bright spots in an offense that has largely underwhelmed this year. Although he has proven capable of handling a heavy workload, it will be interesting to see if Hunt is able to etch out a role for himself in the backfield down the final stretch of the regular season.
