The Cleveland Browns capped off two decades of misery with one of the worst campaigns in NFL history. It goes without saying that their struggles go beyond the lackluster product that has been placed on the field for some time now. The Browns are in need of a serious culture change.
Fortunately, they have some potential suitors in the 2018 NFL Draft that are up to the task. According to Dan Labbe of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Alabama defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick is one of them:
Fitzpatrick is the second player to seemingly embrace the dire situation going on in Cleveland. The other being Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield, who the Browns could potentially take with one of their two top-five picks.
It is encouraging to see such promising prospects willing to step up to the daunting task of rebuilding the Browns. Not only is it indicative of their character but the confidence in their talent as well. Needless to say, it will take a team effort to bring Cleveland out of its rut.
A player like Fitzpatrick could be a seamless fit considering all that he brings to the table. He is regarded as one of the most versatile players in this year's draft with his ability to play multiple roles in the secondary.
And if anyone knows about being in a winning culture, it's Fitzpatrick. He had a decorated college career with the Crimson Tide as he went to three consecutive national championship games, with two wins.
