The NFL handed Myles Garrett an indefinite suspension for his involvement in the scuffle between him and Mason Rudolph. Even though the Cleveland Browns' defensive end will miss the rest of the 2019 season, the NFL doesn't expect Garrett to miss games next season, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Earlier in the week, Garrett appealed the suspension that was given to him by the NFL. After hearing his case, the league chose to uphold his indefinite suspension, effectively ending his 2019 season.

Of course, Garrett was suspended by the NFL after he swung a helmet and hit Rudolph in the head. It was an inexcusable act by the talented pass rusher and he has since accepted the consequences that come with his decision.

Before being suspended, Garrett had contributed 10 sacks, 11 tackles for loss, 18 quarterback hits, and two forced fumbles. The Browns will play in their first game without Garrett on Sunday versus the Miami Dolphins since the 2017 season.

Next offseason, the NFL has manufactured a meeting with Garrett and the commissioner's office. In the event that Garrett showcases that he's learned from his mistakes, he should be back on the field in Week 1 of the 2020 season.

Along with the suspension, Garrett was fined $45,623 for striking Rudolph with a helmet. In addition, he will lose out on nearly $1.2 million in salary by missing the final six games of the regular season.

Without a doubt, Garrett will be motivated to earn that money back by keeping himself prepared to return in 2020. At the same time, hopefully he has matured as a player moving forward because of this unfortunate situation.
