Ryan Leaf knows all about being a high draft pick and quickly fanning out of the NFL, and he offered some advice to Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield to make sure it doesn't happen to him. Leaf recently appeared on Good Morning Football and talked about what advice he would give to Mayfield, and it all starts with how he composes himself on the field.

Leaf said that he has no problem with the swagger that Mayfield conducts himself with, but he needs to know that if the Browns start to struggle that swagger won't be accepted the same way that it is right now.

“Baker Mayfield’s behavior worked last year because they won. Now, if they don’t win this year, are people going to look back on it and say – it’s a fine line you have to walk when it comes to that,” Leaf said via NFL Network's ‘Good Morning Football.'

“But that’s who he is. There’s a swagger to him. There was a swagger to me; if I would have won, it would have looked very similar. But I didn’t. And therefore, when the magnifying glass got stronger, I started to catch on fire, essentially. So I’ll be interested to see how that works. We saw a little blowback with the Duke Johnson comments here in camp. We will see where that goes. He just needs to do his job, and they have a lot of expectations. People are talking about the Cleveland Browns like it is the second coming right now, which, we haven’t seen anything yet.”

Leaf's comments might be taken the wrong way, but they seem to be coming from the right place. Mayfield did have a nice rookie season, but he still has a lot left in the league to learn.

At some point, there are going to be struggles, and that will be the true test or him if he can make it in the league. Leaf had problems dealing with the struggles, and he doesn't want to see the same thing happen to Mayfield.
