Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield had an outstanding rookie season and was runner up to New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley for Offensive Rookie of the Year for 2018. Mayfield is a fierce competitor and knows that he is just getting started in regards to the success he had in 2018.

Mayfield addressed the media in a recent press conference and spoke about ultimately watching Saquon Barkley win the award he certainly was hoping to achieve this season.

“Yeah, I'll use it as motivation,” Mayfield said. “But the more important thing is winning football games. Yeah, it's more frustrating than anything because Saquon, that's my guy and he'll hold it over my head forever. But you know what, I'll use that as motivation and I'll be better in the long run.”

The Browns experienced an incredible amount of success once Mayfield took over at the quarterback position. Cleveland was ultimately on the brink of a possible playoff spot had things worked out in their favor.  For the first time in many years, the Browns did not finish last in the AFC North, so there is plenty to be excited about going forward for the Browns.

Mayfield's success was prevalent throughout the season, and he even found himself in very good company with Peyton Manning and Russell Wilson. Mayfield joined elite company as he tied the two Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks rookie passing touchdown record with 27. The future is bright for the Browns and Mayfield, and it's clear the division could very well be theirs for the taking.
