According to the latest rumors involving the Cleveland Browns, they're no longer eyeing offensive tackle Trent Williams of the Washington Redskins via trade after drafting Jedrick Wills.

The Browns selected Alabama standout Jedrick Wills as the 10th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. But based on the rumors, he'll likely be dealt before he could don the Browns jersey.

Before reportedly bailing, the Browns were the latest team to join in the pursuit of Williams. Reports reveal that prior to the Browns, the Minnesota Vikings, Philadelphia Eagles, and New York Jets have vested interest in acquiring the seven-time Pro Bowl.

The Redskins seem to be bent on letting Williams go. But the interested teams haven't offered anything that would pique their interest. Williams still has one-year and $14.5 million remaining on his contract.

Williams went under the needle in April 2019 to remove a growth from his head that was diagnosed as dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans, a type of cancer. Reports reveal that the team already knew of the growth in 2013 but did not deem it as serious enough to warrant surgery.  This resulted in displeasure on Williams' part and demanded a trade.

Among the aforementioned teams interested in Williams, the Browns did appear to have a solid chance at luring him in. After all, they have former Redskins head coach Bill Callahan is the Browns' offensive line coach. During Callahan's tenure, he helped Williams land four consecutive Pro-Bowl selections. And during this time, Williams was revered as one of the top offensive tackles in the league.

The Eagles' motivations are still unclear. While the Vikings and the Jets are merely looking for either an upgrade or are revamping their squad. Nevertheless, the Browns are out of the Trent Williams sweepstakes.
