The Cleveland Browns are in the midst of what appears to be a major turnaround. With soon-to-be second year quarterback Baker Mayfield now under center, the Browns' rebuild is officially headed in the right direction.

However, the typically dismal AFC North franchise now has some serious decisions to make in terms of the surrounding talent around Mayfield and company. One key player to keep an eye on is veteran linebacker Jamie Collins, who could be moved out of Cleveland at some point this offseason.

“[Browns general manager John] Dorsey met with Jamie Collins' agent Bus Cook on Saturday, and we should know soon if he'll be traded, released or if he'll consider a paycut from his $10.5 million base salary in 2019,” writes Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com. “If the Browns trade Collins, a team will most likely want to re-work his contract, which includes a $12.5 million base salary for 2020. But he received all of his guaranteed money from his current extension — $26.4 million — from the Browns, so that's not an issue for a new team.”

Collins could certainly help the Browns on defense going forward, but at what price would Cleveland make a move to retain the veteran's services?

“There were some inconsistencies [last season],” Dorsey said of Collins, via Cabot. “You don't know what leads to it. He may have been nicked. All I know is he's a very talented football player and you can't have enough of those guys on your team.”

Nonetheless, the Browns will surely be better in 2019-20, with most of the football world now focused on Cleveland.
