Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield has been dropping dimes all over the football field in recent weeks.

The Browns quarterback has also made a consistent habit of dropping pop culture references in interviews, and he explained why to Keyshawn Johnson:

“There's a thing going on in QB Room, that I have to slide in a certain quote, or there's a fine that I have to pay,” Mayfield said on ESPN before Monday night's game.

If you haven't noticed, Mayfield has been slipping in movie and TV quotes, rap lyrics, and other cultural references when speaking to the media all season long. (Here's a comprehensive list, courtesy of For The Win's Charles Curtis.)

In October, he cited “Talladega Nights” to describe the team's mindset after a loss:

In Week 7, the Browns gunslinger called back to the Ruff Ryders when discussing a positive first quarter for the Browns' offense:

On Nov. 15, he quoted a bar from Lil Wayne's “Six Foot, Seven Foot” when describing teammate Myles Garrett:

In the past few weeks, the Heisman Trophy winner has shouted out two iconic characters from a pair of classic late-2000s NBC comedies: Ron Swanson of “Parks and Recreation” and Dwight Schrute from the “The Office.” Mayfield was in fine form:

“There's only two things I hate more than missing throws: that's lying and skim milk. And skim milk is just water lying about being milk. So, gotta make those throws,” Mayfield said, referencing Swanson's credo.

Considering his commitment to the bit, it seems as though Mayfield is either on the losing end of a wager or trying not to be.

Beyond having sick references, Mayfield has being playing sick football for the Browns, too. In his past two games — including Monday night's wild 47-42 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, which included plenty of second-half heroics from Mayfield — the former No. 1 overall pick threw for 677 yards and six touchdowns, with a passer rating of 112.3.
