Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans is currently nursing a lingering hamstring injury as the superstar pass-catcher is now looking to regain his health ahead of the team's Week 1 matchup against the rival New Orleans Saints.

However, Evans is not expected to miss the Buccaneers' regular season-opener as his hamstring injury isn't believed to be too serious, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Because Evans has been banged up in the past, it appears as though the surging NFC South franchise is being overly cautious with the veteran standout.

Evans and the Buccaneers are expecting to achieve big things in 2020 as Tampa Bay has totally revamped its roster. With the tandem of Evans and fellow Buccaneers wide out Chris Godwin already in place, Tampa Bay has since added the likes of quarterback Tom Brady, tight end Rob Gronkowski and running backs LeSean McCoy and Leonard Fournette. Not only that, but the Buccaneers also have both O.J. Howard and Cameron Brate at the tight end position with the team's offense slated to put up some seriously gaudy numbers this time around.

If Evans can stay healthy, he will no doubt become a favorite target of the aforementioned Brady as the seasoned wideout can seemingly catch everything all over the field. Whether it be deep down the field or in the red zone, Evans will definitely get his touches before all is said and done in 2020.

Because of the team's depth at virtually every position, Evans might not see as much double coverage as usual, which will bode well for the longtime Buccaneers pass-catcher.
