Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston, who is currently out due to a shoulder injury, is apparently receiving some good news from those tasked with monitoring his throwing arm.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported that Jameis Winston had platelet rich plasma injections in his shoulder a couple of weeks ago and that he has shown improvement of late.

Things have gone so well following the gunslinger receiving the goo from Ghostbusters 2 in his shoulder that the team has scheduled an MRI for Monday. The idea here being, or at least with hope attached to it, that Winston is far closer to returning from the injury than originally expected.

At 5-6 on the season, but following back-to-back wins, the Buccaneers are in a weird spot. Likely out of the playoff hunt in earnest, it makes almost no real sense to rush Winston back to the lineup. That being said, it is clear he still needs live game reps to improve upon his game. The team will have to weigh the risk of him hurting his shoulder all over again with the idea that he needs more time on the gridiron.

In Winston's place has been Ryan Fitzpatrick. He went to Harvard, in case you were somehow unaware. He's played decent in the absence of Tampa Bay's true starter, but only a dope would believe him to be the long-term fix at the position.

Obviously, none of that sort of conjecture matters at the moment, as we will know far more about Winston's shoulder following Monday's MRI.
