Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans has done great work in his community since coming to the NFL and his latest donation is $100,000 in coronavirus relief funding through the Mike Evans Family Foundation. Of that, $50,000 is going to the United Way Suncoast to help support the Tampa Bay region.

“‘These critical dollars will do so much to help families who are struggling in this crisis,' CEO of United Way Suncoast Jessica Muroff said.”

The donation is expected to help 53,000 people who are served through the United Way Suncoast division. The United Way is helping provide meals to school-age children, providing shelter for homeless youth and also providing childcare support for kids whose parents are considered essential workers.

The other $50,000 will go to help people in Evans' hometown of  Galveston, Texas. Evans started The Mike Evans Family Foundation in 2017 and has had a focus on helping kids and women that are dealing with domestic violence.

Evans has been frequently recognized for efforts in the community and in 2019 he was the Buccaneers' Walter Payton Man of the Year Award nominee. Each year, his foundation hosts a celebrity bowling tournament and golf tournament that helps raise money for college scholarships. Last season, the foundation also gifted a $25,000 grant to help a scholarship fund for local students to attend college in South Florida.

Evans also has tried to stay active in his hometown in Texas with his time and his money, and he has proven that again with this latest donation.
