Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady announced his retirement on Tuesday. Brady's decision on his playing career was believed to be tied to longtime teammate Rob Gronkowski's future, though the veteran tight end had indicated that Brady's retirement wouldn't necessarily influence his own decision one way or the other. Buccaneers GM Jason Licht spoke out on Gronkowski's future following Brady's retirement.

Buccaneers GM Jason Licht said he didn't think that Rob Gronkowski's future was tied to Tom Brady's retirement decision. That's pretty telling, considering that the team's quarterback situation will clearly be far less appealing, unless the franchise opts to make another splash this offseason, similarly to how they did a couple of years ago with Brady.

As expected, Licht said that the Buccaneers will be Gronkowski “space right now to decide what he wants” in regard to his future. That makes sense, as the veteran tight end may be having second thoughts now that Brady, who looked like he could have played for several more years, actually called it quits.

Buccaneers fans will patiently be waiting for Rob Gronkowski's decision on his future, which shouldn't be ruled one way or the other just yet, based on Jason Licht's words.
