The NFL is currently in the re-signing period before the start of free agency on Wednesday. As for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the offensive line could be facing a downgrade after Ali Marpet's retirement. However, the front office made a key decision to help keep the group as intact as possible.

According to James Palmer, the Buccaneers reached a deal with Aaron Stinnie. So, at the very least, Tampa Bay is able to retain one of their starting guards on the offensive line. This is an important move for this franchise as the front office aims to maintain the core of its roster throughout the offseason.

As of now, Ryan Jensen remains unsigned and could hit free agency. That would not be an ideal situation for the Buccaneers, as another team could outbid them for the starting center. Regardless, re-signing Aaron Stinnie guarantees Tampa Bay will have three of their five starting offensive linemen return.

Considering the Buccaneers are rumored to be interested in Deshaun Watson, re-signing the Stinnie could go a long way in generating interest for the troubled quarterback. Although the front office must find a replacement for Ali Marpet, Tampa Bay is in a great position to maintain consistent offensive line play.

If Tampa Bay can also re-sign Ryan Jensen, then the offseason should be considered a success. The Buccaneers would only have to worry about replacing Marpet at that point and can focus on other areas of need throughout the remainder of the offseason. Look for this franchise to get busy in the coming weeks, as they aim to repeat as NFC South Divisional Champions next season.
