We can now cross out the name of Ryan Tannehill from the list of potential quarterbacks whom Tampa Bay Buccaneers signal-caller Tom Brady was referring to during a past episode of HBO’s “The Shop: Uninterrupted. How do we know? Because Brady said so.

Brady and the Buccaneers are having joint practices with the Tennessee Titans this week, — ahead of the clash between these two teams in Week 2 of the NFL preseason this coming Saturday —  so it was a perfect time for the quarterback to shed light on the rumors that it was Tannehill he was talking about when he mentioned the team that passed on him in 2019.

Via Ben Arthur of USA TODAY:

“Was Ryan (the guy)? No Ryan wasn’t,” the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback said following Wednesday’s joint practice, smiling. “Ryan is a great guy. I was just talking.”

The Buccaneers quarterback also went on to heap praises on Tannehill.

“He’s a great player,” Brady said. “He’s done a great deal for (the Titans). He’s done a great job. His last year was phenomenal. The year before that, he was great. I really like Ryan. I’ve competed against him a lot. He’s beaten me quite a few times.”

Indeed, Brady and Tannehill had met a lot of times before the former signed with the Buccaneers. The two went head to head twice a year during their time in the AFC East, with Brady under center for the New England Patriots and Tannehill for the Miami Dolphins.
