The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made some changes under center once again following their loss in Week 8. Fortunately, it appears quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick will have wide receiver Mike Evans available for this week's matchup versus the Carolina Panthers.

Evans had been unable to practice this week due to a knee injury he suffered against the Cincinnati Bengals. According to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, he finally managed to log a session in on Thursday:

Evans’ presence in the lineup against the Panthers this Sunday felt like less than a sure thing on Wednesday. Evans did not practice after hurting his knee against the Bengals last weekend, but Thursday brought better news. He returned to the field as a limited participant in practice, so it looks likelier that he will be available in Week Nine.

The update on Evans is certainly an encouraging one. However, it apars his status for this week's game against Carolina could still be up in the air.

If Evans is able to suit up, he will be catching passes from Fitzpatrick once again. It is no secret that Tampa Bay has struggled to find consistency under center. They had hoped quarterback Jameis Winston was ready to leave those struggles in the past. However, the four interceptions he threw last week has forced the Bucs to hand the keys back over the Fitzpatrick.

Regardless of which player is under center, there is no question that Evans will resume his role as the workhorse wideout. He is in the midst of another 1,000-yard campaign with 46 receptions for 770 yards and four touchdowns thus far.
