Milwaukee Bucks guard Malcolm Brogdon saw his night come to an early end Friday versus the Miami Heat, departing the contest due to right heel soreness.

The injury likely stems from the plantar fascia issues he has had with his right foot this season, per Matt Velasquez of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

The outing marks Brogdon's first scoreless performance of the season, as he shot 0-for-3 from the field overall across seven minutes of play. The 2017 Rookie of the Year has now had three total scoreless games during his three-year NBA career.

Entrenched as a member of the starting five for the first time in 2018-19, Malcolm Brogdon has developed into a critical piece for a Milwaukee squad that boasts the league's best record. Averaging 15.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists, he is also the league's leader in free-throw percentage at 92.8 while shooting 50.5 percent from the floor overall and 42.6 percent from long range.

Injuries and Brogdon don't have a positive history with one another, as a partially torn left quad limited him to just 48 games in 2017-18. He has been absent from just five games this season, but with the Bucks cruising towards the postseason, head coach Mike Budenholzer and staff may opt to play it safe with his defensive ace down the stretch.

Even without Brogdon in the mix for the second half Friday, Milwaukee roared back to defeat the Heat. His next chance to take the floor comes Sunday against the Philadelphia 76ers, but there will likely be an update as it pertains to his status well before that.
