Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie Antoine Winfield Jr. celebrated the team's Super Bowl triumph with some new ink.
Winfield got the Lombardi Trophy tattooed on his arm, with the Bucs logo in the middle and a set of prayer hands over top of the Super Bowl LV logo.
The 22-year-old enjoyed a nice game in the Super Bowl, with an interception and six combined tackles. He also provided the ultimate trolling of Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill by throwing Hill's “deuces” sign in the All-Pro's face towards the end of the game.
Tampa Bay defensive coordinator Todd Bowles was glad to have Winfield in the secondary in 2020, but this is just the start of what looks like a very long and promising career.
Winfield started all 16 games after the Bucs drafted him in the second round last April. He finished the season with 3.0 sacks, 94 combined tackles, two forced fumbles, six passes defended, and an interception. The former Minnesota Golden Gopher struggled a bit in coverage, but still managed a respectable 67.1 overall grade courtesy of Pro Football Focus.
Tampa Bay has a number of important choices to make on the defensive side of the football. Shaquil Barrett is a free agent, as are defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh and veteran linebacker Lavonte David. The Bucs might even consider a run at free-agent defensive lineman J.J. Watt.
But Winfield figures to be a staple in a young and improving Buccaneers secondary. He will hope to add a couple more Lombardi's to his resume over the course of his career.
