Former Washington Wizards guard Tomas Satoransky is looking forward to his fresh start with the Chicago Bulls. Satoransky, 27, got a three-year, $30 million deal with the Bulls during the summer following three seasons with the D.C. franchise.

The 6-foot-7 guard was reportedly happy to see an offer outside of the Wizards, as the former second-round pick wanted a “new situation” away from Washington.

Per Czech independent journalist Lukas Kuba on Twitter:

“When the offer from Chicago came, I hoped the deal would get done. I felt I wanted to try a new situation in another organization. Fortunately, Washington didn't match that offer and I'm going to Chicago.”

The Wizards selected the Prague-born guard with the 32nd overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft. Satoransky would later make his league debut during the 2016-17 season, appearing in 57 games. He then made himself comfortable in the NBA the next season, shooting 52.3% from the field along with starting in 30 games for the Wizards.

Washington is on the edge of non-contention, and as Satoransky leaves the franchise for Chicago, it's worthy to contextualize the changing situation for the Czech professional athlete. With the Wizards signing guards Isaiah Thomas and Ish Smith in free agency, they failed to match the Bulls' offer for Satoransky, thus agreeing on a sign-and-trade, with Washington getting some draft compensation back.

Satoransky averaged 8.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 5.0 assists in 80 appearances in his third and last season for the Wizards, shooting 48.5% from the floor, 39.5% from deep, and 81.9% from the free-throw line.
