Zach LaVine may not have been selected as an All-Star, but the Chicago Bulls guard believes there are not a lot of Eastern Conference players who have played better than him this 2019-20 season.

Prior to their disappointing showing against the Brooklyn Nets, LaVine opened up about his perceived All-Star snub. While he accepts the decision of the coaches and respects the process, he reiterated his belief that he is having a great season and that he deserves to be in the festivities that will be held in Windy City this February.

Per K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago:

“I understand who I am as a player. I don’t think there are 12 people in the East who had a better year than me,” LaVine said.

It may seem strange to the casual fan, but he's speaking the truth stat-wise. With his 25.1 points per game average, he's the 12th-best scorer throughout the league. LaVine is also putting up respectable numbers in rebounds (4.9), assists (4.0) and steals (1.4) for the Bulls.

LaVine has truly blossomed into his own player, clearly leaving behind his image of being only a dunk specialist. He's the only ray of light the Bulls have in their season, with the likes of Lauri Markkanen and Wendell Carter Jr. struggling with consistency.

In their 133-118 loss to the Nets, Luke Kornet and Tomas Satoransky performed decently. However, the rest of the team failed to keep up with LaVine as they were smothered by Brooklyn.

Bulls fans hope that the front office will be able to surround Zach LaVine with the talent he needs to succeed before he gets tired of carrying the team.
