Call of Duty developers Treyarch prepared a treat for all of its players for Warzone and Black Ops Cold War. The upcoming double XP won't just apply to player levels. Weapon and Battle Pass XP will receive the same boost for the duration of the special event. Players still looking to get some grinding in for Season 2 can finally level up in earnest. The Double XP event takes officially starts on Friday, March 26 at 10 AM PDT up until Monday, March 29 at 10 AM PDT. Get all your rations ready, you're going to need them this weekend.

The official announcement came out on the official Treyarch Twitter account. Players everywhere speculate that the promotion is intended to build hype for the upcoming mid-season update for Cold War. Regardless of the developer's or publisher's plans, the event serves as the perfect space for players to catch up with much-needed Season 2 battle pass levels. Additionally, there's still a little over a week away before the next major patch for both Call of Duty titles. Many eagerly await the addition of the existing Sanitorium Fireteam map to the Outbreak Zombies mode.

All in all, Call of Duty players should be gearing up for a grinding weekend following Treyarch's announcement. Both games will undoubtedly experience a spike in player count as operators look to increase their levels.
