Although the Dallas Cowboys were faced with a wide receiver dilemma this offseason, they made it clear that Brice Butler was not part of their plans moving forward. As a result, he is headed for greener pastures where he can be promoted to a more integral role on offense.

Butler is set to have some potential suitors despite his relatively green resume. According to ESPN's Josh Weinfuss, he is visiting with the Cardinals:

The move certainly makes sense for both sides given the nature of this offseason. Butler was adamant about wanting an increased role in Dallas after seeing little usage over the past three seasons. The former seventh-round pick is coming off the best year of his career after registering 15 catches for 317 yards and three touchdowns. While the catch total may not be impressive, the 21.1 yards per reception shows that he is a capable deep threat.

This is something that the Cardinals are in desperate need of at the moment. Arizona signed former Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford to a two-year, $20 million deal this offseason. However, they have done little to add key pieces around him to help elevate the offense.

Aside from Larry Fitzgerald, the receiving corps does not boast much game-changing talent. That said, Butler could make a strong push for a key role in the offense. Although his signing would not be the biggest splash, it would certainly help add some depth to an otherwise thin group of wideouts.
