Star defensive end J.J. Watt is never one to hold back in interviews. He tends to say exactly what is on his mind. So it was no surprise to hear him drop a brutally honest take on the Arizona Cardinals organization on the Pat McAffe show.

“It's a great situation man, I can't lie,” Watt said. “I mean, we got a great team. Obviously we started out 7-0 last year, had a great opportunity and unfortunately squandered it down the stretch. But we got a ton of talent… It's a good organization. Kliff (Kingsbury) is a player’s head coach for sure. He runs the offense, Vance Joseph runs the defense. I think it’s great when you have two guys with that level of experience and knowledge. And they’re putting pieces together.”

Watt then broke down the talent of the offense. He stated that he believes they can post another excellent season in 2022. He continued by praising defensive coordinator Vance Joseph.

“I love Vance. He’s a great coach.”

The Cardinals are looking to rebound after collapsing in the second half of the season last year and losing early in the playoffs following their 7-0 start. The veteran leadership of J.J. Watt will be vital to the team’s success as well.

Their strong coaching staff with Kliff Kingsbury and Vance Joseph leading the way will also be important for the Cardinals in 2022.

Arizona is in good position for a bounce back after falling apart in the latter half of the 2021 campaign. The Cardinals could be in store for a deep postseason run next year.
